The vast majority of BC energy production is dirty fossil fuels. BC Coal is all exported. BC Oil production peaked years ago and is less than a quarter of provincial demand. BC produces three times more Natural Gas than it consumes. 90% of BC energy production is by private industry and less than 10% is publicly owned electricity. Cutting BC ghg emissions by 80% as required by law will require either that the private energy production industry is shut down or that it is transformed to clean energy production.
