Tar sands GHG vs Canada GHG budget by Barry Saxifrage
This chart shows climate pollution from the tar sands as a percentage of Canada's carbon budget. Historical emissions are the solid black line that starts at 4% in 2005. Future projections are based on the tar sands industry's own slower and faster growth plans released in mid-2015 ... and are compared to Canada's 2020 and 2030 climate targets. The blue line shows a scenario where tar sands emissions stop rising as percent of nation's total carbon budget.
